Monday is significant because it marks the 25th day. That is, 25 days left in the school year. Students will receive a permission slip soon, but Mr. Lindberg and I will be taking interested students on a bike ride to school on the morning of June 5. Like the fall bike ride, we will leave from the Free Avon Public Library that morning. Any student who is attending needs a working bike (with inflated tires) and a working helmet that fits. (Unfortunately, many students have showed up in the past with broken helmets or bikes with flat tires. This makes it unsafe for other kids as one adult has to stay back to deal with that.) Like before, we need parent volunteers to join us on the ride. It’s a flat, easy ride so please come along! The Controversial Issue Project 2014 will conclude on Tuesday, May 27, which is also the night of the spring concert and spring open house. They are due in school that morning and parents will have the opportunity to check out the projects that evening. While students will be doing a lot of this in school, some work will be expected to be done at home as well depending on particular project choices that students make.
