Monday is the annual Thompson Brook JDRF Walk. This helps raise money and awareness about Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Students will be outside walking around the school in the morning so they should wear sneakers and warm clothes.

Tuesday is Election Day. Teachers have professional development activities and students have the day off.

In math, we are currently working on Division. Each unit we cover focuses on either one or several standards of the Common Core.  On the math section of the class website (click “math” at the top of the page), I revamped the math section and included recent updates on what students will learn in each unit. Each unit is being updated as the year progresses and as lessons and tests are created. I removed the unit lessons I published back in early September and replaced them with the standards. This is not only updated, but also easy to understand what students truly need to know for each unit.

Students attended the More Than Money Conference on Friday. Their activities were based on the More Than Money curriculum and the students were led by Aetna volunteers and coordinated by Junior Achievement staff. Students have already participated in two Junior Achievement classes at school with Mrs. Kennedy, and these will continue this week as well. In these classes, they are learning about the Our Nation curriculum. They will have five classes altogether.
