Students took the Unit 4 Math Test on Friday, and this week we will start our next unit – Add and Subtract Fractions with Unlike Denominators. This week also brings us halfway through the school year. Students had their last Library class of fifth grade last week. For the second half the year, that class is replaced with Health.

Students will be starting with an American Revolution Speech Project this week. Each student will be assigned someone famous from the American Revolution time period to research, and then give a speech as if that person. More detailed information could be found in the American Revolution Speech Packet 2016. Students have a copy of this as well. The speeches will be held on Wednesday, February 10 and Thursday, February 11. Parents are invited to come watch their child’s speech – a list of the times students are assigned to give the speech will be available later to provide a shorter and convenient window for parents.
