As I write this, it’s a week into spring and it’s snowing. Yuck. The good news is that students have been getting out to recess more and more – this indoor recess thing is not good for anyone. There is no school on Friday for Good Friday.
We are finishing up Unit 5 (Fractions) in math on Monday with the test on Thursday. Students will take home the review packet on Monday and we will go over it together on Wednesday. As in the past, there will also be an optional, extra math review before school on Thursday at 7:30 AM.

Upcoming Events
Good Friday – No School – Friday, April 3
Grade 5 Open House – Tuesday, May 26
Last Day of School – Tuesday, June 16 (w/four snow days)

It was great seeing so many parents at Parent/Teacher Conferences last week. While those conferences are the last official meeting time, it’s important that parents contact me whenever any issues or concerns arise. I will continue to do the same on my end.
The American Revolution Speeches took place on Tuesday and Wednesday. The students were great and really stepped it up after putting so much time and effort into the speeches. Below are some pictures of the groups on both days.

With the March Vacation behind us, we now plow ahead on the 13 1/2-week adventure that leads us to June 16. No more snow… no more snow… no more snow…
Parent/Teacher Conferences are this week – mostly on March 19-20 although I offered times throughout the entire week. I e-mailed information about this (how to access your time online) to everyone a few weeks ago, but contact me if you need a reminder.
The American Revolution Speeches will take place on March 17-18. Parents are invited to come watch their child’s speech, and I e-mailed very specific (almost to the minute) times so you will know when to drop in. Although the times will be fairly accurate, please arrive early to ensure you will not miss your child’s speech. Here is a copy of the assignment that students received: American Revolution Speech Packet 2014-2015.

My “Mancation” adventure I took with my son last week in a warmer world.
