We are in our fourth (and final) week of the American Revolution Famous Person Speech project. Many students finished the speech on Friday, and they should all be done by Monday at the latest so they could start practicing today. The speeches will take place on Thursday and Friday. Parents will be invited to come watch their child’s speech. An exact timeline (down to the minute) of each student’s speech time was e-mailed out to parent last week.

This is a three-dayer this week due to the extended weekend. I hope that everyone enjoyed the extra time with the family.

We are currently on Unit 6 in math – Add and Subtract Fractions. So far students have been learning about changing improper fractions to mixed numbers and changing mixed numbers to improper fractions. This week we work on ordering fractions then move into adding/subtracting fractions with unlike denominators.

We are now in our third week of the American Revolution Famous Person Speech project. On Friday, students moved from the research stage to the speech writing stage. They will be working on writing the speech in class this week, and students will start practicing their speech by Monday. The speeches will take place on March 2 & 3. Parents will be invited to come watch their child’s speech. An exact timeline (down to the minute) of each student’s speech time will be coming out soon.
