Last week we went to visit our first grade book buddies over at Pine Grove. They will be coming back to see us at TBS on April 22.
In our study of the American Revolution, we just began the actual war itself with the midnight ride of Paul Revere, which will be followed by the events of the next morning – the Shot Heard Round the World.
We also started our book project a couple weeks ago, and chose a topic. You will be hearing more about this in the future, but in the meantime ask your child to fill you in on the details.

Upcoming Events
Book Buddies – Friday, April 22 @TBS
Nathan Hale Field Trip – Friday, May 20
Grade 5 Open House (evening) – Tuesday, May 24
Last Day of School – Thursday, June 9 (with two snow days)

It was great seeing so many of you at parent/teacher conferences last week. Even though that is the last “official” conference, please don’t hesitate to contact me at any time if anything comes up.
Welcome to spring – it officially began on Sunday. We have a four dayer this week with no school on Friday for Good Friday.
On Monday we will be visiting our first grade book buddies over at Pine Grove. Several of our previous sessions were cancelled due to lousy weather.

After a week off (of hopefully restful or exciting vacation), we return this week for three full days and two half days. Parent/Teacher conferences are officially on Thursday and Friday, but I offer conference times every morning this week as well. Report Cards will be given to students mid-week.
We begin Unit 6 in math on Monday – Multiply and Divide Fractions. The Unit 5 tests are corrected and will be returned on Monday.
We are now officially under the three month mark. With the mild winter and the already early end date, we’re at a June 9 finish at this point.
