At the end of last week we started the second half of our math unit, moving from multiplying fractions to dividing fractions.

Last week was our first week of Writing Boot Camp. Our team (Team 5-2) is doing a six-week course in writing where we are covering the six traits of writing – Ideas, Organization, Voice, Word Choice, Sentence Fluency, and Conventions. The 90+ students on our team were assessed and then broken up into six mixed groups. Each week, the group meets with a teacher for an hour on both Mondays and Fridays, focusing on one trait (per week). The next week the group will rotate to a new teacher.

On Friday, students will take part in a very interesting Junior Achievement lesson. Several parents are coming in to talk to the class for a session called “What do you do all day?”
